The 58.Two.58 challenge
From Alaska to Brisbane.
On January 22nd, 2025, Lachlan Stuart set off from Alaska in the depths of winter on a mission that had never been attempted: to complete the 50 States Marathon Challenge and then continue across the Pacific to run all 8 Australian states and territories. 58 marathons in 58 consecutive days.
Running through blizzards in Alaska, sub-zero temperatures across the American midwest, the Nevada desert, humid Hawaiian coastlines, and the summer heat of the Australian Outback. Every day brought a new marathon, a new state, and new challenges.
58 days later, on March 20th, 2025, Lachlan crossed the finish line in Brisbane, having completed the 50 States Marathon Challenge in winter conditions before finishing the world-first 58.Two.58 achievement — raising over $161,000 for mental health awareness through the Mental Awareness Foundation.
